Fishery report 15th April.

There are a few carp still being caught, Paul Newell had three on maggots this morning.  The roach are still slow to show themselves, but there are enormous shoals of small fish from last years spawning.  This bodes well for future stocks.  In the meantime a concerted approach combined with sensible groundbaiting should produce a good bag of fish to any angler willing to put a few hours in.

On the fly lake the trout are still coming to buzzers and small black flies.  Fry imitations are also producing good fishing as there are a number of trout regularly feeding on the roach fry (1.5-2.5inches)
Minkies should also produce a few fish as will the tadpoles and damsel nymphs.  Current catch rates are averaging 1.5 to 2 fish per hour on the lake with some anglers doing better.
